Um, the changes in Daylight Savings Time were part of Bush's Energy bill, and was sponsored and pushed through congress by the Republicans. Um, not really sure how the democrats are resposible for this one. The best thing is I am still having a hard time finding where this extra hour of daylight is coming from. If I knew Congress could muster an extra hour of sunlight, that is friggin incredible

I always knew liberals would stop at nothing in pursuit of their evil, freedom-hating agenda, but even I never realized the extent of their powers. It all makes perfect sense:

1) Commie atheist liberal scientists slow down earth's rotation, thus adding extra hour of daylight.

2) Earth heats up extra super fast as a result.

3) Liberals then use this as an excuse to pass a bunch of laws that unfairly regulate capitalism, destroy christianity, and let the terrorists win.

Al Gore is a mass murderer! Send all scientists to Gitmo! It's the only way to save ourselves.

I like how he typed out "um"... classic. That article ignores the fact that places in the midwest had record low temperatures at the beginning of April. My parents had snow, and they live in Oklahoma. OK is pretty far south to be having snow that late in the year, how do you explain that one global warming advocates?

Just to clarify things, the time change came about as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which was passed by Republican majorities in both houses of congress and then signed into law by a Republican (Bush). The time change did not come into effect until 2007. It's pretty standard for that sort of change to be delayed for a year or more.

Also, the average daily high temperature has nothing to do with when the sun rises, because the high temperature will usually occur around the time when the sun is at its peak. It doesn't matter how we change the clock around. We could have 10 PM be the "afternoon" - with the sun at its peak, and that would still count as the high temperature for that day. Total up the high temperatures, divide by the number of days, and you get the average high temperature for that month.

A combination of my experiences in elementary school math, science and civics classes has led me to believe that the author of this article is a moron.

Much as I hate to refer to those fumble-brained scientists, perhaps your folks should hold their noses and momentarily apply some scientific investigative principles to check the actual temperature of that southern snowfall.

Here in Wisconsin we have outdoor fishboils with steaming, bubbling caldrons of Lake Michigan whitefish, spuds & onions. But those same dipping temps in Oklahoma hurtle first over our more northerly latitude, precipitously plunging the thermometer readings. Though it admirably keeps our beer chilled, sometimes that frigid wind freezes the churning kettle so fast that the ice is still warm.

Oh yeah, I just remembered. I live in the phoenix metro area in Arizona where it had never gone below freezing, until this past winter. I had to scrape frost off my windshield for the first time in 7 years! Global warming? Stop being so paranoid!
