Bleeding Heart Liberal: 1 Day In Iraq Could Feed 20,000,000 Children For A Year

People die of hunger and poverty because they refuse to belive in Jesus, and they don't move to the US.

From the department of boo-fricking-hoo comes a report, or rather 2 reports together, that suggest that the cost of 1 day of war in Iraq could pay to feed 20,000,000 children for an entire year.

How did they come up with this useless figure?

First: Joseph Stiglitz, a Nobel prize winning economist, calculated the cost of the Iraq war at $380,000 USD per minute. A small price to pay for spreading freedom!

Second: The United Nation's food aid organization says that it costs $0.19 to feed a child for a day, and in order to make you feel even more bad about yourself, they point out that by the time you finish reading this paragraph 15 children have died of hunger.

What do I have to say to this? Boo-hoo! Cue the violin music...cry me a fricking river.

First of all, lets look at this.

The war in Iraq is the most important thing we could be doing, far more important than doing the work of Sally Struthers. We are spreading freedom, and releasing the Iraqis from the grip of fear that Saddam forced upon them! We are liberating them!!

Second, this thing says that you can feed a child for $0.19 per DAY? NO WAY! This is total crap!

Even if you ordered from the VALUE menu on the Burger King menu, there is no way you could have 1 meal for under $3.50. So this is total BS!

Third, do these people deserve to be fed by us? Doesn't it seem weird that the people who are starving are the same people who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ!? Look at the Christian countries of the world and you will see people living the good life. Look at the people who deny Jesus, and they are starving and dying. See??

Finally, by just GIVING them food, how are they supposed to learn? They will grow up thinking that they don't need to get a real job in order to get food because people in the US just show up and give them everything they need.

No one is forcing these people to live in the hethen areas of the world either. If they don't like starving, they can just move to the United States and get a job doing something interesting, like accounting or be a mortgage broker.

Have you ever heard of a mortgage broker starving to death?

This guy's way off.... either we find superduper value meals for 9-1/2 cents, or we can feed only 10 million.

be formed from the institute known as Postulating Out of One's Posterior?

It's pointless to free the Iraqis if more hungry are dying.

We're not feeding hungry kids Burger King.

No one is forcing these people to live in the hethen areas of the world either. If they don't like starving, they can just move to the United States and get a job doing something interesting, like accounting or be a mortgage broker.

Even if they tried to move to the U.S. (provided they had the finances), you'd dismiss them as terrorists. And with the "utopia" you have in mind for America, I'd bet they'd want a ticket back to Africa.

I'd listen to the mathematicians, personally. They're the ones good at math.
