The Bible would definately stop the bullets. In fact, I bet just HOLDING the Bible would be enough. You wouldn't even need to have the bullets hit the actual book, just holding the Bible at the time of the shooting would make God steer the bullets away.

You misunderstand. I'm not saying that kids should be LEARNING Calculus and Science. I'm just saying that those would be good books to block the bullets. Learning that stuff is a waste of time.

At least it's better than the non-existent body armor that Bush/Rumsfeld supplied to our troops. Maybe we should ship a few thousand old textbooks over to Iraq and have the the troops glue them to the side of those under-armored Humvees that they're driving around. This isn't supposed to be some ultimate solution to school violence. This is just a temporary solution that would be cheap and easy to implement (how many school kids in America don't have at least 1 thick textbook), that could be used to potentially save a childs life. If there is someone shooting up a school, you want the kids/school to do everything in their power to keep safe. If that means holding up a textbook to possible stop a bullet, then that's fine with me.

Oh man....that's f#@$ing brilliant! Do you think the kids should have to leave the weapons at their desks during recess, or should they be allowed to take 'em out on the playground! Me thinks the latter. If the little punks get bored they can shoot at passing cars, or at each other if they get pissed off. That should alleviate the classroom overcrowding problems real quick like. And just think of the tax $ savings....especially if you can figure out some way to selectively dispatch the retards and cripples, or at least the ones receiving subsidized school lunches. Maybe hanging a big 'bullseye' on the back of their wheelchairs would do it...

I think the kids should be FORCED to carry the guns with them at all times, even recess.

Recess could be even more fun through with target shooting games and stuff.

Make it really fun by letting the 'A' students squeeze off a few hundred rounds from a turret-mount twin-.50 caliber machine gun on top of the monkey bars.
