Over 4 years ago the president faced the nation in his State of the Union address and boldly faced the evil doers who had been behind the attacks of September the 11th.
How could he not? They were filling up nearly half the seats in the House Chamber that night. But rather than attack the Democrats for their lack of moral rightousness and flawed policies that led to the attack, he choose instead ot be a uniter, and addressed the 3 nations who planned the 9/11 attacks.
Thus was born the Axis of Evil.
Iraq, Iran and North Korea.
George W. Bush had 2 options. He could either continue the policies of past failed liberals like Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, and George H.W. Bush, negotiating with these countries to try to keep the peace, and using our allies and the UN as a way to build international pressure on these countries. Or, he could use this rare opportunity to find the right ingredents for totally shutting down a "rogue" state.
Thank God and Jesus that he decided to move forward with his plans, and further the foreign policy knowledge of the United States!
What most people don't realize is how little the United States, or at least it’s current administration, knows about foreign policy. We have to rely on think tanks and other experts like Ahmed Chalabi, and conservative think tanks like the Heritage Foundation (who recently provided me with some technical geeks to help me take Democrats.com offline, thanks guys!) to provide us with accurate insight into the regions and regimes around the world. Thanks to the Dumb-o-crats, we have no idea how different "engagement scenarios" could work to our advantage. All we know is how we can "keep these countries in line." We have no idea what is the best way to bring them to their knees, and force them to convert to capitalism and Christianity.
So Bush did the smartest (in terms of foreign policy) move any president has done in the history of this great country. He, along with his advisors, devised 3 engagement scenarios, and applied 1 to each of the 3 Axis of Evil countries as punishment for their involvement in 9/11.
Each plan would serve as an experiment to see how well it worked against a "rogue" state.
Within days, plans were drawn up (just as soon as the Clinton plans were shredded).
First up, Iraq. Engagement scenario: topple the regime with minimal force and allow Jeffersonian democracy to take root, while small number of troops stay behind to ensure we get some of those oil profits to pay our friends at Halliburton, who will be doing all the civilian work on no-bid contracts.
Next up, Iran. Engagement scenario: "Talk trash" to the leaders of the country, and make threats about an invasion of their country similar to the massively successful Iraq campaign. To further humiliate them, mispronounce their leaders name at every chance. They will have such internal pressure from their people for a change to Democracy, and from the shame of international ridicule at the crazyness of their leader's last name, that they will cave and form a representative democracy within the year.
Finally, North Korea.Engagement scenario: Completely ignore this Chinese attention whore, and all the countries in the region. Kim Jung Il is so desperate for attention that he will do anything to get noticed by the world. By ignoring him, and our "allies" in the region, he will be forced to cave to our demands in order to get his moment of attention on the world stage.
Bush did what Clinton could only dream of doing. He took a stand and decided to see how each of these 3 different options worked.
Now, just 4 and 1/2 years later, the results are in, and the United States is safer because of it.
1) Iraq: The plan worked perfectly. The war could not have been better. Saddam was found and put on trial. A unified government was formed, and elections were held.
2) Iran: Iran's power in the region grew by multiples. It is now the dominant Arab power in the world. With the growing threats of the United States, it decided to ramp up its nuclear weapons program, with the goal of wiping Israel off the map. They are testing new missles and submarines, and with their new found role as leader of the Arab US-Hating nations, they are poised to lead the attack either through their conventional military, or their exponentially growing terrorist organizations like Hamas, who is conducting attacks against Israel already, in what is surely a preview of a nuclear showdown between the "Bible Nations" (Israle and the United States) and the "Crazy Muslums" (all Arab states, except Iraq) to come in the following years.
3) North Korea: Funny thing this Kim Jung Il. Our best policy thinkers like Bill Kristol were SURE that North Korea would cave to our demands in order to get the attention that Il seems to crave. However, he decided to go the other route and create a stockpile of nukes, along with missles that can hit Japan and the west coast of the United States. So now he is getting his attention because of massive nuclear arsenal. I don't think anyone could have predicted this outcome, but that is all in the past and we are safer for having tried.
It's important to note that the Iran and North Korea plans were not failures! If you had 3 methods you thought could produce an electric car that could eliminate our dependence on oil, and only 1 of them worked, would be a failure? Sure you would destroy the US economy and send the country into a tale spin that we could never recover from, eventually leading to hell on Earth, but the actual creation of the economy-killing-car wouldn't have been a failure. The Iran and North Korea policies were just pieces of a larger "foreign policy experiment." Thanks to George Bush, we now know which options work (which tactics lead to the country giving up it's WMD programs) and which policy options don't work (which tactics lead to insane people getting a stockplie of nukes).
We now, thanks to Bush, have a template for how to deal with "rogue nations." We just take the Iraq plan, and modify it for each country we deal with.
So, even though North Korea has nukes, and Iran might have them already, or will in a year or 2, we now have a plan to take out both of their regimes, using engagement scenario number 1. Invade their country by force with or without support from the UN, and allow a Democracy to take root, while we leave enough troops behind to make sure we get a cut of the X profits.
If we are talking about Iran then X is Oil, and if we are talking about North Korea, then X is really nothing, because that country has jack shit. Those stupid chinks are literally starving over there. Maybe they should have elected leaders who were more worried about the population starving, and less worried about nuking the United States, but the people of North Korea had their chance, and they have continually elected Kim Jung Il. So they get what they deserve as far as I am concerned.
In summary, it took George Bush just a few years put 3 of Bill Kristol's ideas for how to deal with those who were behind the 9/11 attacks into action, and because of Bush's willingness to stay the course, we now have a way to deal with these types of countries for the next 100 years.
These plans could even be modified to take out some of our so-called "allies" like Germany, Frace, Iceland, and New Jersey. The same template applies!
In one fell swoop, Bush has secured the safety and security of the American people more than any president in history. His plan was so brilliant, it's almost as if it was a divine plan. Could God have told Bush to trust Kristol and the Heritage Foundation in order to secure America for decades to come? We will never know, but surly it seems like the most plausible argument.
